One reader of my last article responded with an ABC News Article, When Words Can Kill: 'That's So Gay'. In no way do I condem bullies at any level and what happened to this young man if quite unfortunate. My article was not published to say it was acceptable to make fun of anyone, but to establish a point of view behind the reason why someone would say "That's So Gay." Violence is never the answer, but unfortunately it happens everyday and anywhere.
I also don't understand why a gay person would be offended by someone referring to an inanimated object as being "So Gay." If they were referring to that gay person sitting in the seat on the other side of the room, it would be considered a fact if that person agreed. But would the gay person be offended? I guess I could ask the next gay person I see to find out.
But maybe I do understand because I just hate it when someone asks me a question that starts off, "I know you're smart, so what is..." I just hate that especially with computer questions. Well, maybe not.
